Majandra Delfino, SuChin Pak, Kulap Vilaysack

SuChin Pak  00:10

Hello, Carter’s, you’re in for such a treat today. Joining me is the doctor MD-MD. Not a real MD, gift giver and gift receiver extraordinaire. Once again, please welcome to the very warm bath at the perfect temperature. That is for her only. Majandra Delfino. Welcome to add to cart again.

Majandra Delfino  00:35

What a pleasure. What an honor. I feel like I haven’t left yet. It feels like it’s been forever.

SuChin Pak  00:41

Oh, I mean, years, ages, centuries, different writing mechanisms have gone by. Technology has changed since I last seen you. I feel like it’s been that long.

Majandra Delfino  00:56

It has been very long. And yeah, it feels like yesterday.

SuChin Pak  01:00

Yeah, it feels like yesterday. And also, you know, the holidays are upon us. As soon as trick or treating ends. Right? It’s just a mudslide into the end of the year. Am I right?

Majandra Delfino  01:15

Such a mudslide. And as a Venezuelan, I can tell you, I know mudslides. And it is I’m kind of also in a joyless time of it. When does it when does the joy come back? When do I get excited again about Halloween and Thanksgiving? And Christmas?

SuChin Pak  01:36

Majandra, I don’t even know why you have the expectation joy. You have to let that go, baby. Maybe you got to let that go.

Majandra Delfino  01:47

I do I do. I have to let it go. It’ll certainly make me..

SuChin Pak  01:51

You look forward to your birthday, or is this where?

Majandra Delfino  01:55

That is a very good point. But you know, what I do love about a birthday is you can really pull out sort of the selfish card. This last birthday, I asked to not leave my bed. And just shamelessly and you could tell there was disappointment. You know, I think David was like, Oh, is this who you are? This is what become? Yes. But that’s the only one.

SuChin Pak  02:19

You came on. I don’t remember which time it was. But you came on with a genius idea of how about this, I stay you leave. You book yourself into a hotel. The internet was abuzz, you know with that reversal of fortune that we had never even really considered or formalized until that moment. Don’t make me pack my serums.

Majandra Delfino  02:52

And what if I forget one? It’s so uncomfortable.

SuChin Pak  02:59

I’ve gotten to that point. When I’m packing my suitcase. This isn’t an exaggeration; I would say like a carry on suitcase. You know how your folds open? You know, I would say three quarters of one side is my toiletry bag. I don’t know when I don’t even know why they make toiletry bags that big.

Majandra Delfino  03:21

No. And then if it adds up and you have some very like stickler TSA person, you’re gonna get something tossed. It’s so uncivilized. The whole traveling situation for us oldies that used to travel before, it was like this. It’s insane. I will tell you this, though, I have now decided, you know how there’s such this thing of like, I only carry on, I never check. I’m like that is the patriarchy. That is what that is. Because this is men who of course, don’t want it. Look, we are all going to perish one day, hopefully much, much later than, you know, we think possible. For everyone else, me personally a whole other story, but no, you have your stuff. We have to use your stuff. And we have to wear our things. And the traveling experience calls for such a mission. And that means you’ve got to bring the things and that means you’re gonna have to check some luggage and oh, my girl, you had to add 30 minutes on like, okay. Oh, but my whole life. I’ve always been just checking in. And I realized the other day as I was going to Paris, and was under such pressure to have a just to check in. I was gonna be gone for 13 days. And I was like, you know who this is? This is Jordan Peterson. The patriarchy and no one agreed with me. By the way all my female friends that I met up with were just fine. They carry on and still multiple outfits. I just wore the same thing.

SuChin Pak  05:04

So you did check in?

Majandra Delfino  05:06

No, I didn’t check in. 100%. You know, there’s only so much for to do that. But I do, I just think it’s such a crazy standard this carry on only so unfair. Only one pair of shoes and then the rest of the serums.

SuChin Pak  05:32

I get it, I get it. And I do you have to say when I do travel overseas, I am, and have always been, I will not check one thing in. And that says a lot about who I am. But overseas now, you know, the once a year, we get to do it. I will not check in on the way there. But I will be checking in on the way back.

Majandra Delfino  06:00

Maybe buying or sell some luggage.

SuChin Pak  06:02

So you get yourself to a travel Pro.

Majandra Delfino  06:07

By the way, that is what I did do.

SuChin Pak  06:11

And that’s a, it’s a little bit of a cheat I get it.

Majandra Delfino  06:14

You know what? It’s fine. Especially on the way back, if you’re alone, no one needs to see the shame.

SuChin Pak  06:22

At that point, you’re just schlepping into your own car or an Uber. No one knows no one cares. All the romance of the trip is gone. You’re a husk of a human being in any way. So you might as well just drag all you know, the carcasses into the car. And, and that’s that. And that’s, that’s how I get around it. But all the Heathrow luggage.

Majandra Delfino  06:48

While that was important

SuChin Pak  06:51

This past summer, people losing their luggage all over the globe. That terrified me and continues to haunt me. So I just have a crazy amount of giant pieces of luggage that I just keep giving away. You know, I’ll have people stay over. I’m like, do you like a luggage.

Majandra Delfino  07:11

A little take home gift. It’s so true. We don’t use our luggage at all. And like, a couple of weeks ago, David and I had to go to a black tie wedding. That was like a three day event. And he was like we’re checking in, right? And I was like no, I will carry on only and he was like, that’s delusional. Like, I need to bring a tux, whatever. And we checked in and I’ve never felt such freedom to just pack.

SuChin Pak  07:39

I’m gonna start off because it’s sort of what I wanted to talk to you about. With my one for you five for me. The whole concept is when you holiday shop, you buy one for someone in your life, and then maybe five for yourself. So this is the theme that we have chosen. Because let’s be honest, I think Ku and I, we realized this, I guess last year, when we were like, this is a joke. We’re not buying for other people. And we’re like we’re not. And so I guess we just call it what it is. And so the whole concept is right? You buy something for someone, but then you’re on there.

Majandra Delfino  08:20

Also, I think let’s free each other from the shackles of expectation that there should be a mind reading situation. And a husband or partner buys you that the you know, it’s just, just buy for yourself.

SuChin Pak  08:33

Just buy for yourself. And also, you know, there’s generally shipping costs and I like to be efficient at what I you know, it’s better for the planet is what I’m justifying it as well.

Majandra Delfino  08:43

I also apparently there’s different ways to interpret this and I’m, you know, so nervous of how I..

SuChin Pak  08:51

If I’m on the site, and I’m laying something for someone, then I’m going to pick up a little something from me, right, you know, right and so I want you to click on Violette. Violette is a what is she is she’s a French artist. She’s a French makeup artist. […] Yeah, yeah, she just puts a little you know, she does like a lipstick. But then she’d like blurs the line. So it looks like she had a glass of Cabernet. But that’s your philosophy. Right? Every threat time with your fingertips. French kissing. No instruments, warmth of your fingertips. Gaia herself, and I have watched her videos and just marveled at the complete transformation and I’m not alone, she has a huge fan base. But I have been drooling over this for you years and have yet to pull the plug and this year I’m going to do it. So I think I love a gift set during the holidays. I think it’s just nice this nice yeah. And they’re generally they’re on sale. So this gift set from Violette if you’re looking at, is something for everyone. You know, it’s a little bit of a highlighter, it’s a little bit of a, of a lipstick that’s, that’s sort of a nude for all shades would say. And then her famous Boom Boom milk, which is this liquid toner moisturizer that you could use also in your hair.

Majandra Delfino  10:41

And it’s a spray to have a milk sprayed into your face. To me that is heaven. I don’t know about you.

SuChin Pak  10:53

You and I shared the same heaven. To have a milky substance right in your face. It is the moisturizing. I don’t know if I’m using it right? It just came out of me. It just bubbled out of me. So I get this. I’m going to get this gift set from my friend. And so that’s something for her. And then for me this is the thing that I’ve always wanted to try and I keep stopping myself and I want to talk to you about it. The you paint which is the Yeux Paint, in this like deep blue with like maybe glitter in it, but we know that the French are doing glitter in a way that’s not she’s, you know, it’s not forever 21.

Majandra Delfino  11:44

You can trust it. Is this the matte one or the twinkling blue?

SuChin Pak  11:48

No, the twinkle. It’s the twinkle that I want.

Majandra Delfino  11:51

And that is twinkly.

SuChin Pak  11:54

And it’s what I aspire. Yeah, no, I see myself, maybe at a little holiday soiree not too big, you know, at a good friend’s house where I can just sit on her couch. But you remember these because I’ve been to many of these that your old […]. And I would just sit on that living room couch across your big grand piano and then just post up there for hours on end watching the parade of fabulist drunk guests.

Majandra Delfino  12:29

I’m so into this, I’m into this version of you. I love it. I also feel like it’s not too aggressive, where you’ll look back with shame and doubt. I think this is amazing. By the way this is you could have worn this to Ku’s shower. This is a jewel tone.

SuChin Pak  12:48

This is a jewel tone. This is what I would have worn had, you know, instead of my pants backwards, you know, this is how they had the foresight. This is how I would have gone into that type of..

Majandra Delfino  12:59

I also listen a backward pant is a move.

SuChin Pak  13:02

Guess what? Nobody said shit. This is the type of gift you want to give to a girlfriend. A sophisticated maybe mother or mother in law, that person in your life that has that […] that aspires to a French girl […], and this is the ultimate to me French girl aesthetic.

Majandra Delfino  13:25

I mean, totally.

SuChin Pak  13:29

Alright, so that was my interpretation of one for you five for me, Majandra, let’s get into your cart.

Majandra Delfino  13:36

Okay, so just real quick question. When you say five for me, are you going to just pick five things off this website?

SuChin Pak  13:45

No, I have other websites I will be traveling to.

Majandra Delfino  13:48

And then but there’s no longer one for the other person, right?

SuChin Pak  13:52

One, you know, the loose leaf five for me as like, five for me. After I get through my list. I will have five things for myself.

Majandra Delfino  14:03

But will those people end up with five things too? They don’t deserve it.

SuChin Pak  14:10

One hing, it’s come on now.

Majandra Delfino  14:15

Mine, different interpretation. And I think it speaks volumes about where I’m at. Mentally, emotionally spiritually. I picked one thing for a person like I’m gonna go down a Christmas list. I’m gonna buy one thing. And then these are the five things I’m going to kind of sneak in there, but not necessarily on the same website which is unfortunate. But the first thing that I went with was let’s get the thing out of the way that we have to get the other person. Okay, yes, let’s just get this out of the way.

SuChin Pak  14:47

Let’s get the broccoli off the plate. So this is something that you would buy somewhat so tell me what it is. It is a MUZEN Wireless Bluetooth Speaker in candy pink. It’s so cute and so gorgeous. The color palette is exactly what we all want. It’s a kind of a warm, nudie pink. You know on top of like, what would you say? That’s like a forest gray? Yes.

Majandra Delfino  15:23

This is my go to for gifts I feel like even though it has so there are other color options, but it has enough of its presence in person. I feel works just fine for man or woman. It’s comes in this adorable packaging. Obviously, it’s something everybody needs can use. It’s great to bring for like a picnic or, you know, hanging out on the beach with the kids or whatever. It’s just you pop it in. I mean, it’s tiny, but it has incredible sound. And for some reason, it brings such joy to people, when they actually physically are in his presence. That it’s truly my go to where I buy this thing all the time. It has never ever done me wrong, and it’s got a great, you know, the price can’t be beat.

SuChin Pak  16:08

69.99. It’s on sale right now.

Majandra Delfino  16:17

Isn’t it so adorable? And let me tell you, very effective.

SuChin Pak  16:21

And Majandra, you said it right when you’re giving a gift. I would say 75% of that gift during this time is presentation if not more, could be 90% like I got a giant when I say giant I can’t even wrap my arms around it, tin of like heirloom popped popcorn from a friend of mine. And when that thing came in the mail and my kids opened up a box that was the size of an air filter and then they realized it was a giant tin of delicious popcorn, we still remember this like they still talk about it. You know what I mean? Like the presentation during this time to me is kind of the whole point.

SuChin Pak  17:10

Don’t mess with the good thing. Why? It’s efficiency. You know what I mean? This is what this show is, you guys. We’re giving you the thing, right. I love a gift that will just pretty much knock out 50% of you.

Majandra Delfino  17:10

Isn’t it wild and it’s interesting because when I first found this thing I thought then when it arrived I bought it for myself first. Throw some willy nilly out there. It arrived and I was so tickled by it. And then I thought you know perhaps that’s something wrong with me but then as I started to give it as gifts I saw men women, grown people just so in love with it. Like a text that’s that would be like I’m having an I’m having a love affair with this amusing but many like oh just this great reaction. So now it really is my go to, I absolutely love it, and I think it’s also very telling that I picked something that I already give to people because I don’t want to even have to think about getting them anything else. Because that’s how over I am buying things for other people. You know, this is what life has […].

Majandra Delfino  18:19

This is where it gets confusing because then I went into five things specifically for me. Okay, so I need to preface this whole thing by saying that I have lost who I am, okay? In the process of adulthood, parenthood. I used to be so great about taking pen to paper. Loved you know to do like morning pages. Something about that feeling of truly like a pen on a paper is like oh I just love it. Love it so much. Letters, thank you notes, loved it all, that has died. I am trying to get back to that person. And everything I picked essentially from here and by the way the music can work for this as well. is sort of trying to bring that essence back. And I am a firm believer that when you buy the fun things for the thing you want to do you have a better chance of doing it. You know?

SuChin Pak  19:26

Absolutely. And people that may not know you, like you’re almost there’s a part of you that’s like a Victorian doll. Layers of laces, untouched by the sun. Well, that is true also that is also part of this fantasy, is a part of you that is very much this person aesthetically spiritually. You know, emotionally. So anyway, actually, let’s get into it. I was gonna let you.

Majandra Delfino  20:19

So, this thing sort of sets the tone. It’s also it perfectly hits on what..

SuChin Pak  20:32

First of all, I cannot believe we’re back at food 52.

Majandra Delfino  20:36

I know, David said to me was what is the deal of food 52 I was like, I don’t know, it’s got its grip on food.

SuChin Pak  20:49

So we’re back on food. And this is a rechargeable wick lantern.

Majandra Delfino  20:51

I think we use the term wick very generously. It’s just an electric looking looks like a wick lantern but it’s you know, you plug it in, okay, but it has the look it hasn’t you know, you don’t need matches, messy oil, none of that stuff. They say it’s a cross between your favorite candlestick and a flashlight, which I really feel is me like in a nutshell where I like to do these like gentle Victorian ghosty things you know, but then in like a split second I’m gonna have to go deal with you know the sea shanty issues run outside and you know, some storm and try to stop a window from flying away. I mean, by the way, I’ve almost lost three windows this year. Which gets in the way of my whole lantern by the fire riding. And this thing can take you out into the wild back in. And I sort of see myself in one of those like sleep cap things you know that they’d were back then. And then I can go back to writing.

SuChin Pak  21:57

It is a perfect combination of the modern woman frontier warrior that you are, a Victorian dead doll.

Majandra Delfino  22:10

I truly am.

SuChin Pak  22:13

You guys, food 52 don’t sleep on it.

Majandra Delfino  22:16

My gosh.

SuChin Pak  22:16

I mean, it doesn’t matter what’s on there. It’s going to be the most beautiful version of whatever it is you’re looking for an apron a knife cutting board. Rechargeable with LEDs. You’re never gonna find anything more beautiful.

Majandra Delfino  22:31

And anything from there such a treat. You know, you kind of can’t go wrong. You can’t insult anyone. And I don’t intend to I mean, oh, I’ll see on that website all day.

SuChin Pak  22:47

So now we’re back to my cart. And again, this is how I interpreted. This actually, is something it’s a product I discovered. That was a gift from you, my dear, years ago, you gifted me this. So excited. It was right around the time that I had my second baby. And I was walking around like a zombie. And I perhaps you saw that in the neighborhood. people don’t know this. But you and I were both pregnant. With our second children had just moved into houses.

Majandra Delfino  23:22

Two houses away from each other.

SuChin Pak  23:24

Two houses away from each other. We’re shut ins during our pregnancy never met. Really? I don’t ever remember seeing you pregnant. I don’t think you vice versa. I think we were like, never left. And then yeah. and then a year later, we both emerged with babies. Yes. And we’re like Hello. Hi. Nice to meet you. I’ve heard about the woman in the window. I too, the woman in the window.

Majandra Delfino  23:50

The women that wouldn’t even approach the window.

SuChin Pak  23:56

And you had, I can’t remember if this is the product that you got me but you got me something from Moon juice. And Moon juice, for those that don’t know, it’s this company. I believe they’re probably based in California that has all of these tonics and potions, pills that are filled with adaptogens that are going to give you more function naledi in your life. What are they called? We were into this for a minute.

Majandra Delfino  24:37

I mean, I’m still, it was so hard for me not to just give all supplements for this.

SuChin Pak  24:41

It is fitting. The first gift I ever got from you was a supplement, was an adaptogen. And I believe it was this product. It’s called Brain dust. It’s from Moon juice. And it’s for focus. And so let me read Do you guys what this is, and it’s a little bottle, it’s 3420. And it’s a powder that you can put in a shake in your coffee. Whatever else you drink, it’ll last you forever. So, rain dust is a new tropic blend of adaptogens and herbs that target stress support mental stamina, alertness and concentration. Who doesn’t want them? I’m sorry, it has lion’s mane, gingko, rhodiola, ashwagandha all of these fabulous herbs. Again, we are not doctors, I realize MD is not an MD, but we’re not doctors. So consult your physician. But I have a friend who has turned 50 this year I am at that age where everybody around me is turning 50 And so you know, 50 is like a big deal. So I got this for him recently. And I just thought it was kind of cute, but also very productive gift. You know, to give to someone who was just turning 50 I wrote him a little card. And you know, I said who doesn’t need mental stamina and alertness? Yeah, in this decade focus and then I bought a new product that they have super you which was a vitamin, they’re like more like capsules. And this one I bought because it has clinically shown to reduce the effects of stress and improve mood, focus and energy. Love that and by God I will be shoving it in every hole if it improves my mood.

Majandra Delfino  25:09

Whatever it takes put it in the eyeballs.

SuChin Pak  26:18

That’s where I am. You know what I mean? I’m at like, give me everything to make me a nicer person. To make me remember why I open the refrigerator.

Majandra Delfino  27:01

Remember your life? Remember the day the kids all of it. And I will say moon juice that Amanda Bacon she’s onto something. She knows what she’s doing, that stuff, it works, it’s potent.

SuChin Pak  27:13

This stuff is really powerful. And I do believe it works like this I believe in this brand and this company so much. So it’s kind of like a really thoughtful gift. For someone that you know really well, that you can say like..

Majandra Delfino  27:28

Try to help your brain and it’s not insulting.

SuChin Pak  27:32

I’ve seen you walking around the neighborhood.

Majandra Delfino  27:36

I gotta tell you my name one more time.

SuChin Pak  27:40

Let me help you. Alright, so your turn.

Majandra Delfino  27:46

Okay, so now keeping in my you know, dead ghost writing thing. By the way, all of these gifts would be great gifts for other people as well. This also kind of has a little bit of a backstory that involves you SuChin I should have had it here to show you but this is a podcast so it’s not like the listeners at home could see so I can just describe it. I absolutely love stationery. You know it’s a problem. It’s you know, the accountant has brought it up endless times. It’s whatever, it is what it is. I love it.

SuChin Pa  28:18

I remember one year that you had I think it was a birthday party for your son, and it was delivered in a scroll.

Majandra Delfino  28:28

That’s right. By a Raven. Just like you didn’t see that part, a raven and dropped it off.

SuChin Pak  28:35

Oh, I felt the Raven energy when it was dropped off at my house. So I understand your great love of sushi. I love it. And I’m excited.

Majandra Delfino  28:43

And that’s the thing I have combed, you know, the look, there’s so many cool, fun, young, fresh stuff that you get it and it’s clearly like just flat printed and whatever. And it is a costly thing to find something letter pressed are engraved. But I will tell you as a gift, especially if you get someone just like 10 no cards that are knock your socks off beautiful. It just gives you that same little lift that thing of huh, and also something that you wouldn’t necessarily ever buy for yourself. However, I do want this for myself. So anyone that’s listening. So there’s two that gave us an option. There’s this place called RS burger stationary. And it’s incredible, like as far as doing something custom.

SuChin Pak  29:31

And they’ve been doing it since 1922. Which is your Era actually that’s even late for you.

Majandra Delfino  29:39

That’s way late. That is way into the future right there. But apparently, if you really scroll down, it started like 18 something you know, a number I was comfortable with. Now is this very cute pink one. How never, you know it’s custom. It’s whatever you want. And the price point is pretty good considering what you’re getting now that’s obviously super professional. Or you can do the box, you know, things exactly a box that where it’s just a cute little thing on the top. And that’s why I added the printery. Because they already have these little box sets that are I mean, so gorgeous. You don’t want to use them. That’s how beautiful they are.

SuChin Pak  30:25

The printery. These look like almost, they’re embossed. Little, you know, gorgeous letterhead.

Majandra Delfino  30:36

And I’ll tell you this, this website of theirs really leaves a lot to be desired. But if it is any indication of them actually spending time on making beautiful products instead. That is 100% who they are. It’s that’s what they’re doing. So beautiful. And I say that this actually has something to do with you. Because I was going through my stationery as I do. I like to touch it. Talk to it. I have this one.

SuChin Pak  31:06

Do you have like a hole?

Majandra Delfino  31:09

Oh, I mean, I could have like an armor. But I have to kind of put them in different. Yeah, so you know, a lot of hiding. From myself, you know, so that I don’t take stock and how much there is, but I have this one set that’s Italian. That’s, I want to say 13 inches by 9 inches is how big the actual sheet is. And it’s like a pistachio green. I open it. And it says, Dear SuChin, there is a letter in there I had started for you. Just when the pandemic happened, because I’ve been listening to add to cart and you were like we need to write letters. And I was like the I’m the one for the job. I’m going to start again. Which by the way, we saw how that went. It’s still in there. I was like this is who I used to, you know, kind of reminded me, this is what used to be, pen to paper lady. And then it started the whole thing of like, oh my can I go back to that? Why can’t I be that person again? Yeah, you know, and blamed everyone. And then now I’m back just scouring the internet for these tools.

SuChin Pak  32:15

I’m excited. I’m excited for the letter that has taken two plus years.

Majandra Delfino  32:20

I’m going to take a picture of where it’s at right now and send it to you because it is hilarious. Like it’s like mid-sentence. I just stopped. I don’t know. I don’t know if the coffee hit. I don’t know.

SuChin Pak  32:35

Yeah, you know, you just know when your soul tunes with another soul. And ours tuned right from the beginning. With no time or chit chat. I was in, I think it was like the first trip that Mike and I took to Europe post children. And we were in this like, tiny town in the south of France. Did I give you towels?

Majandra Delfino  33:08

When you still have, I have the towel literally.

SuChin Pak  33:10

I remember I went to this gorgeous store, where I still remember I still remember everything I bought from there. And I saw these towels and I was like Majandra has to have these towels. And Mike was like, you’re not going to pack beach towels back in your suitcase. And I was like, oh, yes. I brought back towels. Because I just knew, I was like, so watch what it wants. She must have these towels. I don’t even remember what they […] So my final Add to Cart. And guys, there’s so many things I’m adding to my cart. So don’t cry that I’ve only gotten to three. So my brother lives in New York, and his bike is his, you know, it’s his mode of transportation. And one year he got into a bike accident. And he was fine. Because he was wearing a helmet and so being the older sister that I am, I’m always like, please tell me you’re wearing a helmet. Please tell me your helmet. I just see him out in New York rushing around and being like, I don’t want to carry around a helmet. You know what little brothers do? My little brothers. I mean, he’s 45, you know? And so this is what I bought him basically a really cool bike helmet, but it collapses in to just like a small, little foldable helmet, right? And so it’s super portable. It’s safety certified. It’s very chic. I got it for him in sort of a neon yellow color. Because again, you gotta, like, you got to see. I mean, this matte black is very cool on this website, but you’re not gonna see my brother.

Majandra Delfino  35:24

Did you get that super one or the fend one?

SuChin Pak  35:27

Super one, with the light. I wanted safety first.

Majandra Delfino  35:33

I’m adding this to cart right now. There are so many people in my life that would wig with excitement over this.

SuChin Pak  35:42

Because I think the biggest complaint is with bike riding, especially in cities in big cities is that you’ve got this helmet and you’re on this bike. Now what you can do exactly when you go into the restaurant, or you know, the bar, this one folds into itself. So I thought it was so cool. And so I got the fringe super for my brother. Now. I’m not going to get anything on this site for me. I don’t need it. That’s true. It’s not that I’m not […]

Majandra Delfino  36:18

But there, you know thyself, don’t need it.

SuChin Pak  36:20

I know thyself. And I’m not getting on a bike. But I thought I would stay with the theme and say, well, what is my sporty. Gift to myself. Hell. I think you’re gonna love this. I’m gonna throw it back.

Majandra Delfino  36:36

Oh, this I know. This is old school. And I’m so into this.

SuChin Pak  36:42

Now, of course you are me. Now, let’s talk about Lacoste. When I was growing up, the thought of Lacoste for me was like, I mean, it was like John Hughes movies. It was like so premium. So like, out of the Galaxia compared to where I was in life and I’m sure it was for you as well. And it was you know, it harkens you know, heritage. It harkens drinks by the poolside tennis club. That version, right. I have always loved Lacoste. I don’t know if it’s just a me thing. And Lacoste, don’t sleep on this.

Majandra Delfino  37:28

I think it’s amazing.

SuChin Pak  37:30

Everyone’s like, oh, yeah, Supremes. Oh, blah, you know, all these other like street wear? And I’m like, yeah, that’s okay. But Lacoste tried and true. I just last year, bought a gorgeous trench coat from them. They go on sale all the time. On the site. Yeah, by the way. And so I’ve been looking into these chords. What do you call these? Like, sweatsuits.

Majandra Delfino  37:56

Yes. tracksuit, when you get fresh off the track.

SuChin Pak  38:00

That’s right. Fresh off the track, fresh from running. Not a sweat drop in this thing for me. No moisture shall be whipped away in this women’s Lacoste, loose fit monogram cotton hoodie. With matching? Tracksuit pants.

Majandra Delfino  38:20

I’m so into this, you shouldn’t you know, I grew up. Well, first of all the 80s they remember the preppy handbook. This was like the whole thing in the 80s the preppy look, even though, you know, 90% of the kids weren’t preppy. It was just that whole polo thing. But I had the very distinct Lacoste experience of growing up where it was very South American. So, it really sat me like just it was very, like a lot of my cousins, you know, went into that phase as well. But like, way past the 80s when it was already, you know, and it just is like a real staple. And they even would wear the remember when there was a time where they’d make the alligator like huge.

SuChin Pak  39:08

Oh yeah, they still do that.

Majandra Delfino  39:09

Yes, they’d wear that. Just a lot of like, you know, polo cologne. I’ve always been like, no, that is a brand that does not get the respect it deserves. Because it’s so cool. It’s retro. You’ll never regret getting like a polo from there or whatever. Because it doesn’t have that Ralph Lauren like, thing. It’s got this old school aspect to it and especially when you get the kind that’s like that thicker knit. It’s the dopest thing. I love it.

SuChin Pak  39:51

No and the quality is fantastic. They’ve got you know; they’ve got the traditional like sort of Varsity V neck tennis sweater thing. Eng which I think is very adorable, very in now, right? But they also have lots of like, very subtle, modern, more, you know, of the moment type of thing. They sort of have a little bit of everything. And it’s a site that you can find really cute things for kids. And so and again, it just goes on sale all the time. Yeah, great return policy, by the way, as well. I’ve tested and tried. I don’t know, it’s just a place that I go to a lot. And I’m always sort of on there looking for something. And I have a lot of Lacoste pieces, and you’re right, it is just that right amount of preppy without it being obvious anymore, because I don’t think people think of Lacoste anymore.

Majandra Delfino  40:43

And that’s again like you’re not buying lovely a Ralph Lauren paying you’re not doing like Tommy Hilfiger there’s something about it that it just hasn’t been I don’t know just ruined you know, where just feels very much like from that time where it was born. I’m so in. I mean, I’m also, add some other things to cart from the site.

SuChin Pak  41:06

Oh, yeah. You’ll be on there for a minute.

Majandra Delfino  41:08

Okay, so my final thing is, you know, just sort of complete the whole thing is a very little known robe that I have now become obsessed with, which is the Wakanicci summer robe. Have you seen this thing SuChin, the summer robe?

SuChin Pak  41:32

First of all, I have the Wakanicci perfect. That I love and that I share with my son.

Majandra Delfino  41:38

And now and yes, which is amazing. It’s an amazing robe. However, which is going to sound funny being in Maine, but run very hot. The perfect robe for me is tough. It’s got to be dead of winter otherwise, right? I’m sweating. I’m angry. I get angry when I’m hot.

SuChin Pak  42:03

I’m thinking about the conversation around the pancakes in the morning. As David is asking you why you’re not wearing your Wakanicci perfect robe.

Majandra Delfino  42:17

I’m too hot, because I’m actually in front of the griddle making the paint. So, this is the perfect, I mean, I am in this thing so much. It’s embarrassing. I sometimes go to parties. Okay, so full disclosure, Wakanicci is my husband’s company with his two best friends my husband David, and Max Richie. And another David […]. They created the perfect robe.

SuChin Pak  42:46

Which we’ve talked about.

Majandra Delfino  42:47

Love it. And this is sort of the answer to those of us that run hot. It is the perfect summer robe and it’s made out of 100% cotton poplin you know, but it feels like you’re wearing your I don’t want to say hot boyfriend because that way it’s a certain kind of boyfriend that just has really nice clothes. It’s like you’re wearing his oversized shirt. And you’re not taking it off. And it’s yours now and it’s not white it’s that beautiful blue. I went with the Nicci which is the small medium. And I will tell you I have shown up to social events with the Nicci on, okay, with no shame. And it just, it does everything it’s obviously great when you get out of the ocean or pool and all that but it’s just has such an almost like I’m at home in my pajamas, but I feel formal. And there’s nothing more I love. And then obviously it comes off very fast, you know, which was key.

SuChin Pak  43:56

And also you guys great gift because talk about presentation when you get this thing. I remember when I got the perfect original robe. It’s just it’s a gorgeous packaging. So know that if you are getting this for someone number one, it’s a forever rope. We all know, David has been on this show. And his whole theme was forever. His cart was forever. Only things that will last you forever. So trust that he’s making if he’s making something it’s a forever row. And it’s just so beautifully package. It’s so luxurious. For this price point of $180 for this perfect summer robe, the quality of what you’re getting. It just, you just can’t beat it.

Majandra Delfino  44:39

It’s like one of these things I did. That you’d never get rid of like truly like that you associate like Oh, my dad would wear this like it’s just it’s very it’s a real keeper. And yes, he is into forever. I mean this thing is indestructible. Some of the things he buys I wish could distract. I mean, the darn tufts he bought me another pair the other day SuChin, knows like I feel like I have enough. But yes, he is good at things that are indestructible. Luckily, this thing is beautiful. I don’t want to say the darn tufts aren’t but.

SuChin Pak  45:11

I’m in the process. I just want to let you know. And please let David know that I am in the process of converting all of my hiking socks slowly into darn tufts. I know listen, but they’re indestructible. And whether you’re like it or not.

Majandra Delfino  45:32

They’re great and they’re also so comfortable. It’s like the perfect yeah, so I get it. But you know, I’m just mad at the name.

SuChin Pak  45:42

Also your Victorian doll. That’s it, you know, and my goodness, you guys, thank you for meandering with us. You know, all over the world into the recesses of time. We went back pretty far and then came right to the future again. Majandra, I adore you. I adore your family.

Majandra Delfino  46:04

I adore you, too. This is always so fun.

SuChin Pak  46:06

And I know and I just, you know, even though we don’t live just houses away from each other ghosts of humans in the window. You are always a ghost in my brain.

Majandra Delfino  46:17

Yeah. You’re always a ghost in in my heart. And I’m finding little love letters to you.

SuChin Pak  46:27

I love that you wrote. I love that you have a letter started from two years ago. I love that when I sometimes find myself in a little village in France and I find a beach towel. I just have to look at that.

Majandra Delfino  46:41

Yeah. So what a beautiful thing.

SuChin Pak  46:44

Where can folks find you?

Majandra Delfino  46:47

I mean, just Instagram @Majandrama. I don’t really Twitter. It seems like a scary place. I hear from the kids.

SuChin Pak  46:58

Well, there it is. We had to get you before the end of the year, we had to get your add to carts. So thank you so much.

Majandra Delfino  47:06

Thank you. This is always so much fun.

SuChin Pak  47:13

All right. Well, thank you guys, I hope that you got some great gift ideas, whether it’s for you or someone you love, either just fill up your cart, you know what I mean, there’s just so much bad stuff out in the world, you’ll feel so much better. But before we go, this one for you five for me also works for what I’m about to add to cart. And it’s more one for you five hours for me if you will, because I’m talking about KiwiCo. Man, what can I say about this company, I am obsessed with this company. I’ve been a subscriber from the very beginning years before add to cart was even around. And they’re basically boxes that are delivered to your home that really ignite the imagination of your kids. And by the way, the adults as well. But I get two subscriptions delivered every month one for my son and one for my daughter, by the way, they both do each of them. And it is it’s a game changer for weekend’s summer vacation. I actually like to hoard them, by the way, I’ll hoard them and not tell them that the Kiwi box has arrived so that I have something to do with them on the weekends. But each box is really filled with experiments around tactile learning. They’re super creative. They always come with like a little pamphlet which tells you the story or the science behind what they’re actually doing. And a lot of the boxes that I get like there’s more than one project like my kids sit with this box for I mean, they have sat with a box the entire day, like morning, eat your cereal, still in bathrobe all day long Kiwi box and dinner. No joke that has been many, many weekends spent that way. They’re delivered right to your door. And you can get crates focusing on something that interests your kids. So it could be about culinary skills or about art or science or engineering. And the really fun thing about these kids is, I don’t know, I’m just the kind of parent that like, I don’t know how to play with kids. I don’t know how to play with my kids. You know, sometimes I’m just like good let’s, I don’t know I’m at a loss for how to really be present with my kids are engaged them in a way that’s really fun. And for me, I know that when I have a KiwiCo box it’s like, okay, I’m going to be the best parent, I’m going to have the most fun and for me they’re really interesting and entertaining. Like I learned something from all these boxes.

SuChin Pak  49:46

And they’ve got everything they’ve got, you know a paleontologist starter kit, you know where you excavate bones and then you assemble them into a dinosaur skeleton display. And they have like these amazing detailed fossil impressions, you guys, these boxes are so detailed. I don’t even know how they make them. There was a crystal chemistry garden my kids loved. It’s a craft, where you make chemistry and a garden using felt shapes and liquid watercolors. My daughter loves doing this. My son just recently did the hydraulic claw, which is exploring engineering and learning how to build your own hydraulic lifting cloth. He likes anything to do with like water and so this for him was heaven. There’s even a culinary box you know, like the one that my kids just did recently the science of cooking ice cream where you dig into, you know, a series of kitchen chemistry experiments and kid friendly recipes for ice cream and sorbet. They have all the tools; everything comes in this crate that you need. KiwiCo was started by an AAPI powerhouse, Sondra Oh Lin. And so it just it’s one of those companies where she was a mother herself. And she really wanted to be thoughtful about the kinds of things that we were offering to our kids if they weren’t just toys and experiments that you did for like 15 minutes they broke and they ended up in the trash like these things just last they work. We’ve never been disappointed in one of these boxes. All shipping is free when you subscribe. These boxes there’s so much thought that goes into these boxes. I know that they have become such game changers for this family, for my kids. We look forward to getting our boxes every month. You can find everything you mentioned today at @AddToCartPod on Instagram join us there, and we will see you next time bye.
