This week, Ku shares her newest picks for a fresh face of makeup – just what we need for springtime – and no part of the routine is left out. Then Ku and Su share a slew of books and movies that remind us why representation, of any kind, matters in media. Whether its seeing people that look like you or reliving a universal experience (like puberty, agh), stories that diversify narratives while unifying the human experience are important to support, and this episode is jam-packed with them!

Kulap Vilaysack, SuChin Pak

SuChin Pak  00:10

Hello everyone, welcome to a brand-new episode of ADD TO CART. Now this is the show about things we buy, buy into what it says about who we are. I am Auntie Su.

Kulap Vilaysack

And I am Auntie Kuku Vilaysack. Su, my sister, my love, my angel. How are you doing?

SuChin Pak

I’m doing good. You know, I’m doing good. We’re getting through it. We’re getting through it. And I feel like we got through the beginning of the year-ish. Not so great. Still looking pretty bleak out there. But then we’re rolling into summer and I’m just hoping that’s gonna bring some brighter days for all of us.

Kulap Vilaysack

You’re really skipping spring here?

SuChin Pak

Oh yeah, yeah. Spring is already just in the trash like hot burning trash. And I’m just like, You know what? Hey, there’s summer. There’s summer. Right behind spring. So I don’t know. It’s been a lot of that. I think when you’re with school aged children, you live by the school calendar. It’s just a buzz, a buzz about spring break and summer coming up. What about you?

Kulap Vilaysack

Well, things are good. I mean, I’m trying to think about I was gonna launch right into my add to carts. But let’s just take a breather and see how are we inside our bodies. Mindful? Still doing mushrooms.

SuChin Pak

Oh my god, I’ve never heard you start a show this way. Oh, my, you guys. You know, it’s the Nuuly box. It’s the hair. It’s something’s going on with you. And you are fetching.

Kulap Vilaysack

Fetching. I love that. As my therapist said she was like you are out. She was like you are like out of the pandemic and I am out and thank you for saying I look fetching that takes us right into my add to carts. I have fallen in love with the Kosas brand.

SuChin Pak  02:27

I’ve heard so. You know this brand has been around for a while but man they keep coming out with hits. You know, viral hits. So tell me about I haven’t I haven’t actually bought Kosas probably since they launched God knows when.

Kulap Vilaysack

Well, of course, you’ve heard me talk about their deodorant.

SuChin Pak

Yes. Still working for you, game changer.

Kulap Vilaysack

I started my love affair with Kosas through a goop recommendation. And this concealer. It’s called the revealer concealer and it’s a concealer meets eye cream. So Su, you know about clean skincare, this is your wheelhouse. So this idea of concealer, which looks great on me feels great on me but also that I could give me you know, a little bit of skincare. Oh hell yeah. And then it just led me I’m like well I like this brand; I like what they stand for I like more than anything I like how it feels on the skin. I just started buying stuff and hitting up when sales were happening especially during the holidays I was like yep, here we go, add to cart and so I really love the tinted face oil, Su and I have dry skin, why I really like it for me not only for the dry skin but also I like a light coverage I liked my freckles to come through I just want like an even look. This has been spot on.

SuChin Pak

Tell me about face oils because I’ve been interested in it and it’s like such the rage with makeup right now. Does it give you kind of an oily finish? Because when they say face oil I just assumed I was like oh is it going to give you kind of like that oily look which I have on the fence about, you know?

Kulap Vilaysack  04:19

Yeah, because even if like I love like all these like lip oils and the lip oil of course is going to give you that that sheen like you’ve just I don’t know, like sucked off a vegetable oil or someting like that.

SuChin Pak

What’s it the sucking off part, oil like the vegetable oil or the suck? Okay, okay, sorry. she’s catching her breath. She’s taken herself off video because she needs some time. We know how that feels. So the face oil foundation really is about the sheerness of the product then not necessarily about the like, what you’re left with.

Kulap Vilaysack

Exactly, exactly. Okay, I think it and it feels you know, it’s gonna be to me it’s less, it’s actually less thick than your normal foundation.

SuChin Pak

Okay, so now I’m understanding it and now I’m adding to cart because that’s like an everyday you know, it’s probably a little bit more coverage than a tinted moisturizer. Not as much as like typical foundation, and Kosas you know, it’s one of the first skincare brands that this is makeup for skincare freaks and lovers you know they mean like they just have a lot of experience around this I trust this brand, so go on.

Kulap Vilaysack

So, just so you know my entire face I put it on so that I could you know, and I’ll send you pictures. Yeah of course so that I could really give you a sense, a visual sense of my past, now one of our leaders here at Lemonada, Jessica Cordova-Kramer, I posted a selfie of myself because now that’s what I do. I’m back on my shit again. And she was like what is on your cheeks? And I was like it’s the Kosas contra chroma color and light pressed, it’s blush with a highlighter and SuChin Pak, you’ll love this, it was free with purchase and gosh started, don’t you like it when a product you get for free? knocks it out of the park.

SuChin Pak  06:40

Well, I didn’t remember getting a text message about that. I’m pretty sure every time I find like a juicy deal, a gift with purchase a buy two get a third. The first person I text that but that’s just me. God, that’s just me. It would be the first person I text is my Ku. anyway,

Kulap Vilaysack

I desperately want to lie and say that this was January, but I know you’re not. But I want to lie.

SuChin Pak

By the way, you had no problem sending me things you bought in January. No problem. No, please go on with your list. This is about you.

Kulap Vilaysack

I’m also SuChin Pak and a few you know I’m contouring with a wonderful bronzer that they make. You know I don’t tan. But I sometimes want to look like I’ve been you know well first of all I want to look like there’s more dimensions in my face. I guess that’s more the reason why anyone contours but I’m not doing a Chloe Kardashian or Kardashian esque type sort of look in my life. But hey, I want to you know, highlight my jawline and try to define it from my neck so I don’t look like an Asian thumb. Well then I’ll use this bronzer. Because you know it’s true. It’s real. That’s why I got a highlight my jawline and my cheeks, under my bones, otherwise, we’re just like one like thing you know? Like I’m just like, people are so happy. They just think I’m hitchhiking. I’m a huge hitchhiker be at cars be stopping like you need a ride. Like no sir. Just let me put my bronzer on yet. And then I finish it off with the comfy cloud set, you know, just as I’m walking out, so I don’t have to touch it so much. But it’s a best seller. I recommend it. But now what I’ve been having the most fun with SuChin Pak style is this 10 second eyeshadows and I have them loving it. And this is around the holidays. When SuChin and I were both just buying gifts for ourselves.

SuChin Pak  09:27

You have the full range; you have all of them it looks like.

Kulap Vilaysack

Okay, it’s almost like watercolor. And you could build up the color. And remember when I posted a selfie on add to cart with the euphoria blue, that’s what it was.

SuChin Pak

Wait, so does it dry then matte?

Kulap Vilaysack

Yes, no. Well, it does have sparkle.

SuChin Pak

Does it move? You know, a lot of those cream things that move and it drives me nuts.

Kulap Vilaysack

Nope. Doesn’t move. All of this stuff. What really loving about Kosas is that it doesn’t chalk up. It doesn’t move

SuChin Pak  10:06

Somebody get Kosas on the line. Get these people. Let’s get these people to give us discount code.

Kulap Vilaysack

We need it. We need it. And especially since I really only got sort of, I need maybe more neutrals.

SuChin Pak

I see that you got quite a range of.

Kulap Vilaysack

I need the neutral ones that are available now. So I do need a discount code. And just at their last thing about Kosas that I’m loving is their lipstick and specifically, the weightless lipstick in stardust.

SuChin Pak

They’re known for their lipsticks. Yeah, like I was like, when they first launched. That was the was big thing.

Kulap Vilaysack

Okay, so I rarely just kind of lean in on a brand ever. But it’s just like, I like how it feels, and lays. And I think there was a period of time when I was using my old stuff. And it was just because my eye wasn’t recognizing that my face was changing. It was looking so chalky and it wasn’t laying right. And this stuff. I feel like look fresh, like a daisy.

SuChin Pak

I concur. And I can see that and I love makeup. So let’s just say this. I’m about to add to cart, everything I want and everything you talked about and then other things that I may want that’s not in your cart, and then I’m going to let that cart sit until sale. Or we can get a code. And then I’m going to purchase.

Kulap Vilaysack

That’s your right and that’s your way. Speaking of codes should we talk about Can?

SuChin Pak

Yes, Can, so you guys may have noticed that we did a little commercial?

Kulap Vilaysack

A little Instagram commercial.

SuChin Pak

With our friend, good friend of the pod, Mr. Paul Sheer, and it’s for this company called Can, and the commercial was for their THC infused beverage. Right? But we just found out that they also have an unspite version aka it’s the can without the THC. So it’s a bubbly tonic. It has just four natural ingredients and you know I love a bubbly drink, carbonated water. Ku, tight bubbles here are eight juice not from concentrate. That’s not what we do here. Herbs agave, that’s it. It’s such a delicious drink.

Kulap Vilaysack  12:35

Let me name off the flavors for you just, you know, I mean […] bubbles, please. I just really want to set a tone here. And while I say this kind of mean sexily. I wouldn’t attempt it but it’s up to you to determine if I’m sexy. Grapefruit Rosemary. Lemon Lavender, blood orange […]. All these come in a variety pack. Cranberry Sage, Ginger Lemon Grass. That one was available for the first time. Spring Seasonal Flavor. That is one of the most popular flavors it only for a short amount of time.

SuChin Pak

I mean, Ginger lemongrass is my favorite.

Kulap Vilaysack

Yeah, I mean, that to me is your essence. You’re a ginger lemongrass.

SuChin Pak

That’s right. A little bit bitter. Sometimes salty, and definitely… It’s so delightful. Listen, a Can is great, Ku, you love Can, I mean who doesn’t who doesn’t love the traditional can with a THC but for folks that don’t you know, one, it’s a different part of the day or maybe have a different vibe. This is just a great alcohol alternative for those looking for a social drink. You know, you won’t get a hangover you’ll be hydrated, sparkly, tingley sensible, all natural. It’s such a crowd pleaser. And they’re beautiful, they’re elevated, carbonated drinks. This is what we deserve in this time.

Kulap Vilaysack  14:19

Yeah. And after we did the promo for Cann with Paul, we were in touch with the company and more specifically on spiked and they were generous enough to offer us a code for 40% off for our listeners. So you can use code Add To Cart at drinkunspiked.com for 40% off. This code will also work at drinkcanc.com That’s if you want to check out the one with the fun. You know what I’m saying? The one with the THC. Okay, I have had a lot of fun with Cann. Okay, I’m whispering but I’m yelling inside

SuChin Pak

40% off, I’m definitely ordering. You know, I love a code.

Kulap Vilaysack

You are like 10-15, anyways, add to cart. Why haven’t we talked about our strategist article?

SuChin Pak

You know what I’ve been meaning to bring it up. But let’s be honest, the past few recordings. And I’m not saying  it’s the mushrooms. I’m not saying that. But I’m just saying there could be just a slight..

Kulap Vilaysack

You’re saying there’s a factor.

SuChin Pak

It’s a theory, theories are not proven. But we have, we have not been on track. And so maybe that’s why, but I wanted to bring it and I’m so glad. Thank you for reminding me. You guys. We have launched a regular column with our dear friends at New York Magazine, the strategist. It’s our favorite shopping place online, all the racks are there. So they came to us and they said, What about doing a column? It’s called Auntie Approved. And what we’ll do is we will test out products and then give our honest opinion, you know, these aren’t paid these aren’t I mean, we get the products for free. But that’s about it. I mean, we’re under no obligation to love something. It’s our honest opinion. And it’s stuff like we, I mean, we try things out here. But for us, we don’t try things out to try things out. So it’s a little bit different, like what you’re going to get there. We’re not really going to talk about on the show, because that’s not what we do. This isn’t a show about, you know, reviewing products. But we’ve got one up now where we talked about the perfect pot. Okay, so the perfect pot is from the same company as the infamous pan. It has become quite the I had you know; I didn’t know that my mark on the world. You know, when I leave this place. The reason I bought that pan in the first place, talk about years in the making, because I’ve seen that pan everywhere. It’s a famous Pan, was because we did this for the strategist I loved this pot so much. I then bought the pan. And that’s how this whole pan thing started, by the way. But anyway, so we’re doing that we’re doing a bunch of stuff that’s coming up, but it’s just funny. I mean, you guys know what it’s gonna be like, it’s gonna be Ku, being gorgeous and perfect and neat and hygienic and aesthetically of the utmost high-res qual.

Kulap Vilaysack  18:04

She’s trying to be nice. Shallow is what the..

SuChin Pak

Shallow vein, all those things. All those things too. But other things. And then there’ll be my version. And we all know what my version is. And I think that approaching one product from these two different points of view, everyone is going to find somewhere they fit somewhere on this spectrum. It’s been so fun to do this. Because we just basically laugh at each other and shame each other for about 45 minutes. Doing these reviews. It’s been a lot of fun.

Kulap Vilaysack

Shout out to Maxine builder. You know, and our boy, Tony, who brought us in.

SuChin Pak

Tony has now moved on to the illustrious New York Times. Maybe you’ve heard of that place.

Kulap Vilaysack

Maybe you’ve heard of weddings.

SuChin Pak

Yeah, maybe you’ve heard of, you know, iconic New York things. And then now Maxine is has inherited two cranky old Asian aunties. And she gets to sit as we talk about the merits of slippers.

Kulap Vilaysack

Constantly trying to pull her in? But Maxine..

SuChin Pak

She’s a young person and she’s like, alive in the world in New York. And then it’s, me and I look at her and I’m like, God, I used to be somebody you know. And now here I am. Just dirtying up a pan and I’m proud of it too.

Kulap Vilaysack

I stand behind every word I’ve ever said about your pan but I love you. I love you so goddamn much.

SuChin Pak

Someone commented and said stop posting pictures of this pan like I think we have to put trigger warnings because there are people that are, you know very particular about things. And so I think that picture of my pan has to come with a trigger warning

Kulap Vilaysack  20:12

And anytime I use it again, I will cover it with the words trigger warning and red blocks. Cuz I get that. And I should be sensitive to that because it is that disgusting.

SuChin Pak

But there it is, you guys. I hope that you’ll love us in print just as much as you love us here in your earbuds. It’s been so fun.

Kulap Vilaysack

So fun. Speaking of loving us, and particularly SuChin and Prince, add to cart Rise, a  pop history of Asian America from the 90s to now by Jeff Yang, Phil Yu and Phillip Wang, SuChin Pak has amazing article, I haven’t read. I haven’t read it yet. I just got the book. But I’m just like, I literally just got the book today. So I haven’t seen it.

SuChin Pak

First of all, this thing, I have been talking about this thing since we got it. It is so incredible this book. You guys, if you don’t have any coffee table books, this is it. If you don’t have any, you know, history books about Asian Americans have this is it. I mean, it’s so fun. It’s historical. It’s a graphic novel, and my kids are loving it. You know, because it’s so visual. It’s easy to digest. But anyway, yes. And I did a little chapter in there about, how shall I say it reverence for Connie Chung. Yeah. And it was so fun. It’s not what you expect, I think, I think you’re going to be surprised at my Connie Chung story.

Kulap Vilaysack

I’m so happy for the authors. I know Jeff and Phil. Phil Yu is also known as Angry Asian Man, Jeff Yang, also known as Original Spin. And together they have a podcast called They Call us Bruce. So I’ve known these gents. And they were so supportive of me when origin story came out.

SuChin Pak  22:09

By the way, also in Rise, essential viewing, did you even know they were going to do that? Because every decade, so it’s from the 90s to present. So that’s also kind of fun. You know what I mean? It is sometimes you don’t want to sit down and like go back to the Chinese Exclusion Act. You know, there’s something kind of poppy about just from the 90s to now. And so for every decade, what they’ll do is sort of like an essential list of things that you really need to watch to read whatever it is to understand how our culture has been shaped. And your documentary is in it is listed in there. And it’s a very short list, by the way.

Kulap Vilaysack

I mean, I’m so grateful. It means a lot to me, it really does. It mean, so much.

SuChin Pak

And Philip weighing, you know, I think he’s shaped how this next generation of Asians and Asian Americans really see themselves in terms of storytelling and media and comedy and representation. And being authentic. You know, I think coming from an era, at least for me, where I felt like leaning into my Asianness was going to exclude me from a career. This is like a totally different generation. And he really is of that group of creators that have made that identity shift possible. So the three guys they have such credibility and such experience. It’s a great book.

Kulap Vilaysack

Congrats, guys. You know, writing a best seller. That’s huge. So awesome. Speaking of books..

SuChin Pak

Speaking of books, I didn’t know you’re going to bring a book, but I brought a book. We both got our advanced copy of in a New York minute. So Kate Spencer, our dear friend, one half of the forever 35 podcast. We love those folks, is coming out with a book. It’s called In a New York Minute. And I read this in probably two nights.

Kulap Vilaysack  24:19

You’ve already read it? I just got it. I know.

SuChin Pak

I just get really excited to read something of you know, a friend. And this book, it’s kind of like you need right now. It’s like rom-com. It’s silly. It’s a New York love story. What she’s done, I was gonna text her and I haven’t even had a chance to do it yet. And I flagged all the places in this book where there’s like a New York restaurant, or a cafe or a bar that if you lived in New York, you know, you know it’s not like this not like Empire State Building. It’s like, you know, […] who you know, which is like this little cafe at […] that’s been there forever and all the Brooklyn spots, Grimaldi’s pizza, and, you know, it gave me such Sex in the City vibes. It gave me such like New York. I loved every minute of it. And it’s just a fun, fantastic romance story. So it’s perfect for you know, we’re talking about I mean, I’m talking about summer coming up.

Kulap Vilaysack

I was gonna say a beach read a vacation read.

SuChin Pak

you’re gonna swallow this. And you know, in two bites, this thing is so fun. And I don’t know, it just was nice to get to something that wasn’t heavy. And I was so cheered up and I really needed something like this. That’s probably another reason why I read it so quickly. Because I just was like, oh, this is actually kind of what I need. Something just like light and fun and takes me back to a version of New York that doesn’t feel scary, or so far away, you know? Felt very familiar. And so she just did a great job. You guys. Do you know how hard it is to write a book and get it published? And then have people buy it? You know, whether it’s Rise or you know, in a New York, I mean, they’re fantastic books, but like, what an endeavor so I just applaud Kate and this book is fantastic. So fun. Can’t wait to get into it.

Kulap Vilaysack  26:34

Su, have you seen Pixar’s Turning Red, yet?

SuChin Pak

I have not because I’m waiting for my kids. Of course I cannot watch that without my kids. And we were going to do it this past weekend. But they had to give up some screen time. And we’re not going to get into that because that’s not that my Add to Cart.

Kulap Vilaysack

Oh, yeah. Sounds like some removed from carts. Got it. Yeah, got it. All right. When the kids are out of the doghouse, we have to make sure to watch turning red. I cannot speak more glowingly about this film. It made me so happy to talk about representation talk about characters just being if you’re not aware of it. It’s directed by Domee Shi, a credible voice cast including Sandra Oh, who plays the mom. It’s about puberty. It’s magical puberty. It’s about daughter and mother relationships. It’s about being okay with that relationship changing, evolving. And it’s so funny. I am somebody who as an adult without kids, I have watched every Pixar film, every Disney film. And while Pixar is absolutely buoyant, I can’t I’m trying to think like, has there been like a really funny Pixar film? And this film makes multiple times laugh out loud moments. Casey and I were talking about it just the other day, just like, oh, they’re just like some really funny jokes. I think the animation is interesting and different than other Pixar films, and certainly, you know, just again, let’s circle back to wrap up representation here. It’s about a young girl, 13-year-old who is growing up in a neighborhood in Toronto. It’s certainly a love letter to Toronto, but also I found it just so relatable. Please everybody watching some Disney plus which is gonna lead me to my removed from cards and slide me right it’s my remove from cart. Which is, am I ethnically Chinese? Yes but that’s not you know, culturally I’m not did I grew up in Toronto No, but I when I tell you that I enjoyed it for the story that it is, number one it’s a coming of age. I’ve seen coming of ages of boys and related to it of young boys and young girls not of my race or ethnic background and I related to it. We can all relate to a coming of age if we indeed have come of age. Why I’m frothing at the mouth right now is I’m removing for cart a review that has since been pulled from Cinema Blend That was critical of a film, which is, by the way is their job to be critical. That’s not the part. That’s not the part. The review is pulled off line after being called sexist and racist by other people of the press, by the cast. But the managing director wrote a review saying that the film’s appeal was too limited because it’s set in Asian community of Toronto. So I’m just gonna read his quote, okay. Okay. He said, I recognize the humor in the film, but connected with none of it. By rooting turning red, very specifically in the Asian community of Toronto. The film legitimately feels like was made for Domi. She’s friends. That’s the director and immediate family members once and he called that, which is fine, but also a tad limiting in scope. And then he continues some Pixar films are made for universal audiences, turning red is not, the target audience for this one feels very specific and very narrow. If you’re in it, this might work very well for you. I’m not in it. This was exhausting. This was exhausting, SuChin.

SuChin Pak

Wow. Yeah. I mean, other Pixar films, listen, okay. We don’t have to sit and talk about how ridiculous this is everybody. Anybody with half a brain?

Kulap Vilaysack

Well figure out like I posted this. And then somebody who followed me, wrote, I’ve listened to the editors name is Shawn for years on Cinema Blend. I don’t think his comments were meant in any sort of racist, sexist way. I think he was simply stating that it’s a nice experience. I’m like, bro, like, so I wrote him back. And I was like, Hey, have you seen the film? That he says it’s a nice experience is the problem. And then he’s just trying, then he was like, Well, okay, well, okay, problematic for sure. But not overtly racist and sexist. It’s like, what are we? What are we talking about right now? And I would, again, argue, maybe you don’t realize what you’re doing? Maybe, maybe it’s so hard for you not to be centered.

SuChin Pak  32:19

It’s frightening. You know, the erasure they feel. And I would even venture to say that storytelling is also about a specific experience too, those are some of the most memorable pieces of film or books, you know, that I’ve ever seen or read is when you’re reading about an experience that you personally haven’t been in, but that’s also what’s expanding about it and creative and, you know, explosive about it like, yeah, you only want to see the stories that you know, again, and again, with the same type of people, the same. How many Viking shows do we need on Netflix? I seen all of them, by the way.

Kulap Vilaysack

Good news for that person? There’s a pantheon of content for you, then there’s so much for you. Yeah, most, you know, a good section of the Criterion Collection. Any streaming service has everything you could possibly need then.

SuChin Pak

CBS, NBC, ABC, any of those places may be good for you. But also this is for you. This is the reason why these films need to be made is for you. I know this story. I haven’t seen the movie. And I know the story. And I would love to see myself reflected. And that’s great. But it’s also for those who think that this isn’t about the experience that should be incorporated into their own lives like this is also for you. It’s not just for us. This is the whole point of why this is made. And it’s so common when you have something that’s not centered in whiteness, and not centered in maleness.

Kulap Vilaysack  34:10

And so that it’s speaking of the maleness, there’s been some conservative voices who find talking about puberty and the mere, like, image of a pad to be obscene. And then also, just like, this is promoting, you know, daughters not listening to their mothers. It’s like, ah, oh, exhausting.

SuChin Pak

Yeah, you know, it’s important to support books and movies like this. Because this is what they’re up against these creators pitching, you know what it’s like, yeah, I do anything that’s not centered on the quote unquote, universal experience, and then to get it made and put it out into the world and then that gets criticized that it’s not about them.

Kulap Vilaysack

It’s so crazy because it is so universal. So the themes are so universal.

SuChin Pak

It’s Pixar. It’s not even like we’re like talking about some indie art. It’s like Pixar is in the business of making universally loved movies that make a lot of money, you know, that’s what they do.

Kulap Vilaysack

they do well, but that’s also for me my fear somebody in the business is like see, didn’t do well, see, it was too narrow. Yeah. And you’re constantly trying to that you these gatekeepers these money folk that will make it so that who buy these and produce these projects. If they don’t get a return, then they go, that’s it. Tat’s it all of a sudden, no lights.

SuChin Pak

The fact is, is there is a market for characters and stories that are not centered on white maleness. And it’s been proven time and time again. You know, it is frustrating that you have to prove it every time. And that we have to continue to prove it. But it has been proven

Kulap Vilaysack  36:00

Just on a numbers and a money. It has been proven and yet, and yet, it’s because the people who are in charge need to look different. Okay, let’s turn to revolution.

SuChin Pak

Yeah, or just really amazing highlighter makeup because I know for this episode to end so I can go to Kosas.

Kulap Vilaysack

Alright, one more thing before we go. We love to give stuff away here on add to cart we have another voicemail giveaway. Let’s take a listen to our winning voicemail from Lauren.

Speaker 3  36:40

Hi Su and Ku. My name is Lauren and I’m from Los Angeles. And I’m new to the pod and I’m loving everything so far. I feel very seen. It’s like listening to friends. Like to my friends chat. Like if I was just like sitting at coffee with two of my friends. And they were just talking and I was listening this way. I feel like so it’s like a lovely treat. I just listened to the March 1st episode where you talked about stepping into her bra like pants and just like pulling it up over her shoulders. And they want to say I do this too. I think it is the best way to put on a bra. I don’t know. I feel like acknowledged I didn’t realize it was a controversial topic. I just sort of felt like that was sort of the obvious way. Just like pull it up. It’s just like the ease of it. I loved that. And that was it. I just had to share that I was on team bra and pants putting on, anyway, thank you so much for everything. You have a great day.

Kulap Vilaysack

It’s a tough t-shirt, bra as pants put it on.

SuChin Pak

Is it because I think it’s the perfect t-shirt. I think it pretty much sums up intelligence, wit and it really sums up the love of luxury and science.

Kulap Vilaysack

It’s not luxury. Okay, we used to like a four pack was like $5.

SuChin Pak  38:04

Luxury of time. I’m not talking about luxury of material. Listen, Lauren may have it made out of silk. I haven’t made out of sock material. It doesn’t matter. Lauren. I’m gonna get your number off of your voicemail and call you so we can hang out because apparently we’re the same person. Yeah, yeah. And I’m jumping right in here, Ku, not letting you get in a word in edgewise. Because my goodness when I am validated on this show, boy, do I want to ride that horse straight into the stables and out the barn door with the cherry pie.

Kulap Vilaysack

Are you eating it while you’re writing? Are you on your way to a destination?

SuChin Pak

It’s not for everyone, it’s for me and Lauren and other people..

Kulap Vilaysack

Specifically, your body types, somebody body types, they cannot do it.

SuChin Pak

I understand that. And that’s why it’s not for everyone. But for those with our specific body types. There are still those people who are putting their bras on either […] behind their back or putting it over their heads.

Kulap Vilaysack

She’s doing voice she’s doing body.

SuChin Pak

And I also wanted to just note, the fact that Lauren said she didn’t even know that it was a weird thing. Thank you, Lauren. That’s my whole existence on this damn podcast.

Kulap Vilaysack

She looked he was like, I feel seen but in that moment, who was like I feel seen.

SuChin Pak

We see each other, all right. I’m so excited that this is our voicemail and so excited that she gets our prize. What is the giveaway today for Lauren?
