IT. IS. TIME! The Aunties are officially kicking off the holidays with some blood-pumping shopping stories. First, the Target x John Derian fall drop (or drips) has caused complete mayhem in the Aunty Groupchats. It’s “Twelve Days of Christmas” but with asparagus candles, mushroom pillows and cabbage stoneware. Plus, SuChin is dreaming of her perfect SheShed. Rob Huebel has some open carts he needs the aunties help to close. He tells Ku and Su why he spent almost $200 on a jump rope. But he’s torn on how much is too much to spend on his (and his wife’s) underwear. Plus, the three compare notes on men’s vs. women’s fashion marketing, and redesign some boxers for maximum dill cooling.

Youngmi Mayer is back on the pod, this time with her new memoir “I’m Laughing Because I’m Crying.” Carters, this book will alter your brain chemistry. At least, it did for the Aunties. They dive into shame, Korean and Korean-American identity, and what happens when you become the crazy lady on the subway. Plus, Youngmi talks about the one new pair of shoes she’s bought in three years, and gives us a crash course on cushion foundation.

It’s a blessed day when an episode makes it out of the groupchat. Besties of the pod Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider of Bitch Sesh join the Aunties to catch up. First, SuChin regales them with tales of laser treatments in South Korea, which means they’ll be adding to cart some plane tickets soon. Then, Danielle shares an inspiring book and Casey is swayed by a 24-year-old beauty influencer. We’re all about the yin and yang here.

Part two of Auntie fall travels is all about Su’s adults-only trip to Asia. First is Japan, where Su experiences a semi-normal adult vacation out in the sunlight. Carters, we have a special Friday treat with you. SuChin sits down with Tracy Moore, co-host of the new podcast The Body Collective, presented by Lemonada Media and WeightWatchers. But listen, this is not your grandma’s WeightWatchers. The Body Collective is changing the narrative about weight, turning shame into power. Tracy talks to SuChin about having her body publicly scrutinized as a longtime broadcast journalist. After going through cycles of gaining and losing weight, along with having kids, Tracy began waking up to the rampant fatphobia affecting us all. She shares her journey of learning to love her body just as it is, and invites us into The Body Collective.

Our jet-setting Aunties have returned home! Their overflowing carts mean we had to break this up into a two-parter. Ku tells Su about taking the fam to the Disney resort in Hawaii. Auntie Ku is out on mom duties, which means resident “young maiden” aka producer Tiffany is keeping her seat warm for her. It’s an intergenerational conversation between auntie and niece, as Su dives into teeth and lightbulb talk. Meanwhile, Tiffany is stepping into a new era of technology with a hair curler that curls your hair for you. Whether you lean more crypt or maiden, there’s a little something for everyone.

It’s hot as hell, but that isn’t stopping our usual Auntie antics. Whether Mother Nature is ready or not, Mama KuKu is declaring the start of autumn. She’s already assembled the perfect Halloween costume for Baby Eme, proving that even when Ku’s behind, she’s ahead. Su, meanwhile, is locked in on her dental care. She drops some Auntie medical wisdom (not to be confused with actual medical advice) and explains why she sees the dentist not once a year, not twice a year, but every three months. Plus, we press play on the answering machine for listener voicemails!
